Where can I find plain paper folding fans in Newcastle, NSW Australia?

I am just after 30x to use as gifts for a party this sunday.

I have tried spotlight, scrapbooking shops + party suppliers to no avail.
All I can find are sparkly floraly type sandalwood ones.
I would love plain ones.

Any help would be super appreciated!!!!!!!!
Thanks!
Thanks!
I found places in sydney, but don’t
think I will get there in time before the party unfortunately.

Hi spotlight should be able to redirect you to a freelance or trader of these. Otherwise go to Kotara or something and ask the shops there. Your best bet is in sydney – theres far more options down here… and also most of the dealers can beat prices.

Best way to cut pictures for scrapbooking?

I have a bunch of pictures at the developer and I want to start scrapbooking. I need some advice on how to cut them to size for my pages. I was planning on using an exacto blade and a ruler. I don’t have much money left because I spent plenty on scrapbooking supplies. Would using an exacto blade or scissors be alright? I want to make sure the pictures are straight.

Also….

If you have any scrapbooking advice or links for beginners that would be greatly appreciated.

Hello – I explained this in your other question, cut the paper itself and put your picture behind the paper so you don’t have to cut your actual picture and it looks neater. Use an exacto knife to cut shapes out. It will be like matting for a picture frame

What makes your favorite scrapbook store appealing?

Why do you go to your favorite scrapbook store? Is it because they have the biggest paper collection? Or the more helpful, knowledgable employees?

What is it that you like best about your favorite scrapbook stores?

Thanks!

Well I would have to say that the best thing about my local scrapbook store is the wonderful, knowledgeable employees! They are so wonderful. If there is a new technique or product, they take the time to show me how to do it. If I have a page that is not quite working right, I can take it in and they make helpful suggestions. They have helped me with ideas for gift scrapbooks.

My local store also offers great classes using all the hottest items. The will also let customers book the "scrap room" for free in order to have little crop sessions with friends. That is always fun and give us a chance to spread out our work more than we could at home. This store has cards for frequent shoppers. One is, take ten classes, get one class free. Another is a 10% discount with an extra 5-10% off on select products each month.

Of course, product quality and selection is always a must. With out that, no one would purchase much. And a good clearance or sale section is a bonus (it’s my first stop every time I go into my local store)!

Hope that helps!

Is there a more inexpensive product comparable to the Cricut?

I want to buy someone the cricut for a Christmas gift exchange because I know she would love to have it, but it a couple hundred more than I thought it was. Is there a similar product our there that I can find for her. She loves doing crafts and scrapbooks and artwork for and with her kids. Any ideas on a comparable product that’s less expensive or even ideas/suggestions for a gift would be appreciated.

I own a Cuttlebug which is worth it’s weight in gold. You can use die cuts in it or use it for embossing.
It is a really easy machine to use and with very little practise you can turn out professional looking results every time.
It does have its limitations – it is a manual machine and you cannot alter the size of the die you are using.
On the plus side it’s far cheaper than the Cricut and the embossing folders and dies are reasonably priced. It folds up so doesn’t take up a lot of space on a worktop.
I don’t think you can go far wrong with this machine.
You can use other brands such as Sissex and Nestabilities in it.

Scrapbooking- should I convert to 12×12?

Okay, so I have been buying the 20 dollar scrapbooking kits at walmart because I like the binder- it is just a 3 ring binder- and it comes with paper and stuff. But, when I want to buy paper at the craft store they really only carry 12×12. They have some 8 1/2 x11 but not much.

So, here is what is stopping me. There are only postbound albums. I have only had one, but it seemed like the pages were hard to open, they wouldnt lay flat.

What works well? WHat have you tried?

ps- I am not really into this. I do holidays and vacations and such. I make about 50 pages a year. I am not super into embellishments and such.

I used to teach scrapbooking at Michaels and what I recommended to most people is buy the 12 by 12 post bound scrap book but them for like $4.00 you can get a snap load adapter kit. The posts are unstable especially when you extend them but the snap load is essentially a plastic piece looking similar to a flattened zip tie that makes changing pages and binding your book super simple!
